Author and pelvic floor expert Cynthia Nero helps menopausal women break free from chronic pelvic pain, anxiety, and stress. After years of unresolved pelvic pain, she became a certified Yoga Therapist and an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach which enabled her to discover how to get rid of her pain and reignite her joy, confidence, and relationships. Cynthia lives in breathtakingly beautiful Santa Fe, New Mexico with her husband and her 3 dogs. She is the proud mother of 3 amazing human beings.
Ever since I began menopause at age 50 I immediately began experiencing pelvic pain which became chronic. I had low back pain, vaginal dryness, a feeling of heaviness and pressure on my pelvic floor, soreness, and vulvar pain. I didn’t know what was happening to me. I could no longer enjoy sex with my husband or sit comfortably. My life was all about pain and trying to get rid of it.
I tried medications, hormone therapy, biofeedback, internal myo-fascial therapy, and many other treatments without success. I felt anxious, frustrated, and hopeless. My relationship with my husband had become stressful. I felt like I would have to live isolated with this pain for the rest of my life.
The lightbulb moment for me came after I’d felt like I’d exhausted all my healing options. I was listening to a song about happiness. I realized that I had been letting my pain overtake my whole life. I decided then and there that even if I had this pain for the rest of my life, I wouldn’t let it ruin my life any longer.
After this revelation, I did find ways to get rid of my chronic pelvic pain and get my life back, reigniting my confidence, joy, and relationships. I can now enjoy intimate relations with my husband and sit comfortably. I don’t feel alone or isolated.
